Firefox 14 Final ออกอย่างเป็นทางการแล้ว ผู้ใช้เดิมสามารถทำการอัปเดทตามวิธีในหัวข้อ "การอัปเดท Firefox 14 Final" ส่วนผู้ใช้ใหม่สามารถทำการดาวน์โหลดได้ตามวิธีการในหัวข้อ "ดาวน์โหลด Firefox 14 Final" ซึ่งโมซิลล่าสร้างความประหลาดใจด้วยการใช้หมายเลขเวอร์ชันเป็น Firefox 14.0.1* แทนที่จะเป็น 14.0 เหมือนการออกเวอร์ชันใหม่ที่ผ่านมา Firefox 14 จะเข้ารหัสข้อมูลทราฟฟิกที่ผู้ใช้ทำการค้นหาข้อมูลด้วย Google จากแถบที่อยู่ (Address bar/Awesome bar/Location bar), ช่องค้นหา (Search box), หรือการคลิกเม้าส์ขวาด้วยโปรโตคอล SSL เพื่อเพิ่มความปลอดภัยและความเป็นส่วนตัวให้กับผู้ใช้มากขึ้น ซึ่งการเข้ารหัสการค้นหาข้อมูลด้วย Google นี้จะเปิดทำงานตั้งแต่เริ่มต้น

นอกจากนี้ Firefox 14.0 ยังมีคุณสมบัติใหม่อีกหลายอย่างด้วยกัน อย่างเช่น สนับสนุน Mac OS X Lion สามารถตั้งค่าการทำงานของปลั๊ก-อินได้ และ Awesome Bar จะช่วยพิมพ์ URLs ที่เคยพิมพ์แล้วให้อัตโนมัติ (auto-completes typed URLs) และยังมีการแก้ 14 ปัญหาความปลอดภัยในจำนวนนี้มีปัญหาร้ายแรงวิกฤติ 5 ปัญหาที่อาจทำให้ผู้ใช้เสี่ยงต่อการโดนโจมตีจากมัลแวร์ได้

การอัปเดท Firefox 14 Final
สำหรับผู้ที่ใช้ Firefox 13.0.1 หรือเก่ากว่าสามารถทำการอัปเดทเป็น Firefox 14.0.1 ได้โดยจากหน้าต่างโปรแกรม Firefox ให้คลิก Firefox Button จากนั้นเลื่อนเคอร์เซอร์เม้าส์ไปชี้บน Help (หรือกดปุ่ม Alt แล้วคลิกเมนู Help) จากนั้นคลิก About Firefox แล้วคลิก Check for Updates รอจนโปรแกรมทำงานแล้วเสร็จจากนั้นให้คลิก Apply Update ซึ่งจะเป็นการรีสตาร์ทโปรแกรม Firefox เพื่อให้การอัปเดทเสร็จสมบูรณ์

Full screen support for Mac OS X Lion implemented
Plugins can now be configured to only load on click (requires an about:config change)

Pointer Lock API implemented.
New API to prevent your display from sleeping.
New text-transform and font-variant CSS improvements for Turkic languages and Greek.

Fixed:

OS X: nsCocoaWindow::ConstrainPosition uses wrong screen in multi-display setup. (752149)
CSS :hover regression when an element's class name is set by Javascript. (758885)
GIF animation can gets stuck when src and image size are changed. (743598)
Various security fixes.

Known Issues:

If you try to start Firefox using a locked profile, it will crash.
For some users, scrolling in the main GMail window will be slower than usual.
Focus rings keep growing when repeatedly tabbing through elements.
Windows: The use of Microsoft's System Restore functionality shortly after updating Firefox may prevent future updates.
