ไมโครซอฟท์เปิดให้ทดสอบ Windows Small Business Server 2008 Public Preview
Windows Small Business Server 2008 เป็นโซลูชันแบบ All in One ใช้เทคโนโลยีแบบเดียวกับ Windows Server 2008 แต่จะได้รับการออกแบบและกำหนดราคาให้เหมาะสมกับการใช้งานในองค์กรขนาดเล็กซึ่งมีงบประมาณทางด้าน IT จำกัด โดย Windows Small Business Server 2008 เน้นความปลอดภัยของข้อมูลและการเพิ่มผลผลิตขององค์กร โดยจะรวมเอาเซิร์ฟเวอร์ต่างๆ ที่จำเป็นในการใช้งาน เช่น อีเมล การเชื่อมต่อกับอินเทอร์เน็ต เว็บไซต์ รีโมทแอคเซส การใช้งานร่วมกับอุปกรณ์พกพา การแชร์ไฟล์และพรินเตอร์ การสำรองและการรีสโตร์ข้อมูล เข้ามาไว้ในชุดเดียวเพื่อความสะดวกแก่องค์กรในการจัดซื้อ ติดตั้ง จัดการ และบำรุงรักษา Windows Small Business Server 2008 นั้นเทียบได้กับ Windows SBS 2003
