FileZilla ซึ่งเป็นโปรแกรมไคลเอ็นต์ FTP, FTPS และ SFTP แบบ Open Source ออกเวอร์ชันใหม่มาให้ได้อัพเดทกันอีกแล้ว โดยล่าสุดออก FileZilla 3.3.1 เมื่อวันที่ 4 มกราคม 2552 ที่ผ่านมา

FileZilla เป็นโปรแกรมไคลเอ็นต์ FTP แบบมัลติแพลตฟอร์ม (Multiplatform) โดยมีทั้งเวอร์ชันสำหรับระบบปฏิบัติการ Unix, Linux และ Windows สำหรับเวอร์ชันบนระบบ Windows สามารถทำงานได้บน Windows 9x,Windows ME, Windows NT4, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista และ Windows 7 ทั้งรุ่น 32-bit และ 64-bit

FileZilla เป็นโปรแกรมไคลเอ็นต์ FTP ที่มีจุดเด่นเรื่องการใช้งานง่ายด้วยอินเทอร์เฟชแบบกราฟิก (GUI) มีประสิทธิภาพและความน่าเชื่อถือในการทำงานสูง นอกจากนี้ยังมีฟีเจอร์ให้ใช้งานอีกมากมาย ที่สำคัญสามารถใช้งานได้ฟรีภายใต้ไลเซนส์แบบ GNU General Public License

การปรับปรุงการทำงานโปรแกรม FileZilla 3.3.1
ใน FileZilla 3.3.1 มีการแก้ไขข้อผิดพลาด (Bugfix) ในการทำงานที่พบในเวอร์ชันก่อนหน้าดังต่อไปนี้
• Implement missing tab creation from context menu
• Unix/Linux: Reduce flicker on tab creation
• Set initial focus in chmod dialog to input box for numeric value
• Correct handling of unexpected closure of SFTP connection
