ไมโครซอฟท์ (Microsoft) ได้เปิดให้ดาวน์โหลด System Update Readiness Tool ซึ่งเป็นเครื่องมือสำหรับใช้แก้ไขปัญหาที่เกิดเมื่อผู้ใช้ทำการติดตั้ง Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) หรือ Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2) โดยปัญหาดังกล่าวนี้จะเกิดขึ้นเมื่อผู้ใช้ Windows Vista หรือ Windows Server 2008 พยายามทำการติดตั้ง SP2 แต่จะประสบความล้มเหลวและได้รับรหัสความผิดพลาดว่า "80070490"
สำหรับวิธีการแก้ปัญหาดังที่กล่าวมานี้ทำได้โดยติดตั้งอัพเดทหมายเลข System Update Readiness Tool (KB947821) ซึ่งสามารถดาวน์โหลดตามเวอร์ชันของระบบปฏิบัติการที่ใช้ ดังนี้
Windows Vista และ Windows Server 2008 เวอร์ชัน 32 บิต
Download System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista SP2 (32-bit)
Windows Vista และ Windows Server 2008 เวอร์ชัน 64 บิต
Download System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista SP2 (64-bit)
หลังจากดาวน์โหลดเสร็จแล้วให้ทำการรันโปรแกรมแล้วดำเนินการตามคำสั่งบนจอภาพจนแล้วเสร็จ
