เป็นข่าวดีสำหรับสาวก Firefox เมื่อ Mike Beltzner ซึ่งเป็นสมาชิกทีมพัฒนาของโมซิลลาระบุว่า Firefox 4 ได้พัฒนาถึงเวอร์ชัน Release Candidate (RC) เป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้ว และกำลังอยู่ในขั้นตอนการทดสอบโดยทีม QA ของโมซิลลา ถ้าหาก Firefox 4 RC สามารถผ่านการทดสอบไปได้ด้วยดีทางโมซิลลาจะส่งให้กับกลุ่มผู้ทดสอบเพื่อทำการทดสอบ (QA validation) อีกครั้งก่อนเปิดให้ดาวน์โหลดแก่ผู้ใช้ทั่วไป
ทั้งนี้ ถ้าหาก Firefox 4 RC สามารถผ่านการทดสอบทั้งสองขั้นตอน คาดว่าโมซิลลาก็จะเปิดให้ดาวน์โหลดได้ในสับปดาห์หน้า ซึ่งอาจจะหลังการประชุม "Weekly All-Hands Meeting" ซึ่งมีกำหนดจัดขึ้นในวันที่ 7 มีนาคม 2554

Yesterday we ordered release candidate builds for Firefox 4, which have been duly produced and are now being validated by our QA team before we ship them to our beta audience. Once the release candidate is in the hands of our more than 3 million daily beta users, we expect to spend another period of time doing intense QA validation before ship. Please note: the release candidate represents the code we *intend to ship* as Firefox 4 - it is not yet validated and supported, but if all goes well, those are the bits we intend to "put on the wire."

Now that Firefox 4 RC builds are underway for Windows, OSX and Linux, it's time to re-open the tree so that the remaining work required for Firefox 4 RC on mobile platforms can be completed.
