ก่อนทำการติดตั้ง Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 นั้น มีความต้องการระบบดังนี้

คอมพิวเตอร์ที่มีโปรเซสเซอร์ความเร็ว 233 MHz หรือสูงกว่า (แนะนำให้ใช้โปรเซสเซอร์ Pentium)

- Windows Vista 64-bit
- Windows XP 32-bit with Service Pack 2 or higher
- Windows Server 2003 32-bit
- Windows Server 2003 64-bit
- Windows Server 2008 32-bit
- Windows Server 2008 64-bit

• หน่วยความจำ
- Windows Vista - 512MB
- Windows Vista Service Pack (SP1) - 512MB
- Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) - 64 MB
- Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) - 64 MB
- Windows XP Professional x64 Edition - 128 MB
- Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2) - 64 MB
- Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 ia64 - 128 MB
- Windows Server 2008 – 512MB

• ยกเลิกการติดตั้ง IE8 Beta 1
หากมีการติดตั้ง Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 อยู่บนระบบ Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 จะทำการยกเลิกการติดตั้งให้โดยอัตโนมัติ ทั้งนี้จะมีการรีสตาร์ทระบบ 2 ครั้ง

• ติดตั้งอัพเดทที่จำเป็นสำหรับ IE8 Beta 2
บนระบบคอมพิวเตอร์แบบ multi-core XPSP2 x86 จำเป็นต้องทำการติดตั้งอัพเดทหมายเลข KB932823 หรือ KB946501

เฉพาะระบบ Windows XP Service Pack 3(SP3)
สำหรับยูสเซอร์ที่ใช้ Windows XP Service Pack 3(SP3) ที่ติดตั้ง Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 ก่อนหน้าติดตั้ง SP3 ให้ทำการยกเลิกการติดตั้ง SP3 และ Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 แบบแมนนวล ก่อนทำการติดตั้ง Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 ตามขั้นตอนดังนี้

1. Uninstall Windows XP SP3
2. Uninstall Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1
3. Re- install Windows XP SP3
4. Install Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2

Windows Vista หรือ Windows Server 2008
สำหรับ Windows Vista หรือ Windows Server 2008 ก่อนทำการติดตั้ง Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 ต้องดำเนินการดังนี้ก่อน

• ยกเลิกการติดตั้ง IE8 Beta 1
หากมีการติดตั้ง Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 อยู่บนระบบ จะต้องทำการยกเลิกการติดตั้งแบบแมนนวลก่อนทำการติดตั้ง Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 ตามขั้นตอนดังนี้

1. เปิด Control Panel แล้วคลิก Programs
2. คลิก Programs and Features แล้วคลิก View installed updates
3. รอจนวินโดวส์แสดงรายการอัพเดทที่ติดตั้งบนระบบ จากนั้นเลือก Windows Internet Explorer 8
4. คลิก Uninstall this update
5. ทำการรีสตาร์ทระบบหนี่งครั้ง

• ติดตั้งอัพเดทที่จำเป็นสำหรับ IE8 Beta 2
ทำการติดตั้งอัพเดทจำนวน 3 ตัว ดังนี้
-อัพเดทหมายเลข KB937287
-อัพเดทหมายเลข KB943302
-อัพเดทหมายเลข KB957055

การยกเลิกการติดตั้ง Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2
การยกเลิกการติดตั้ง Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 มีขั้นตอนดังนี้

1. เปิด Control Panel แล้วคลิก Programs
2. คลิก Programs and Features แล้วคลิก View installed updates
3. รอจนวินโดวส์แสดงรายการอัพเดทที่ติดตั้งบนระบบ จากนั้นเลือก Windows Internet Explorer 8
4. คลิก Uninstall this update
5. ทำการรีสตาร์ทระบบหนี่งครั้ง
6. ระบบจะกลับไปเป็น Internet Explorer 7 + อัพเดทของ Internet Explorer 7
