Dynamic Memory นั้นเป็นฟีเจอร์ใหม่ที่มีใน Service Pack 1 สำหรับ Windows Server 2008 R2 เป็นฟีเจอร์ที่ทำให้เซิร์ฟเวอร์ Hyper-V สามารถจัดสรรการใช้งานหน่วยความจำทางกายภาพ (Physical Memory) ของเวอร์ชวลแมชชีน (Virtual Machine) ให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากยิ่งขึ้น (อ่านรายละเอียด »)

โดย Dynamic memory เวอร์ชันเสร็จสมบูรณ์นั้นจะสามารถรองรับเวอร์ชวลแมชชีน (Virtual machines) ซึ่งรันระบบปฏิบัติการเกสต์ (Guest Operating Systems) มีดังนี้
• Windows Server 2003 Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter (32-bit and 64-bit)
• Windows Server 2003 R2 Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter (32-bit and 64-bit)
• Windows Server 2008 Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter (32-bit and 64-bit)
• Windows Server 2008 R2 Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter (64-bit)
• Windows Vista Enterprise and Ultimate (32-bit and 64-bit)
• Windows 7 Enterprise and Ultimate (32-bit and 64-bit)

แต่ใน Service Pack 1 (SP1) Beta ที่เปิดให้ดาวน์โหลดเมื่อวันที่ 13 ก.ค. ที่ผ่านมานั้น จะสามารถรองรับเวอร์ชวลแมชชีนซึ่งรันระบบปฏิบัติการเกสต์มีดังนี้
• Windows Server 2003 Enterprise and Datacenter (32-bit and 64-bit)
• Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise and Datacenter (32-bit and 64-bit)
• Windows Server 2008 Enterprise and Datacenter (32-bit and 64-bit)
• Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise and Datacenter (64-bit)
• Windows Vista Enterprise and Ultimate (32-bit and 64-bit)
• Windows 7 Enterprise and Ultimate (32-bit and 64-bit)
