ไมโครซอฟท์ (Microsoft) ได้โพสต์บทความเกี่ยวกับปัญหาความไม่คอมแพตติเบิล (Incompatible) กันระหว่างโปรแกรม Internet Explorer 8 บน Windows 7 กับแอด-ออนของโปรแกรม Drive Letter Access ซึ่งอาจส่งผลให้โปรแกรม Internet Explorer 8 หยุดตอบสนองการทำงานหรือเกิดการแครช (Crash) ได้

สำหรับโปรแกรม Drive Letter Access (DLA) นั้นเป็นซอฟต์แวร์ของ Roxio โดย DLA เป็นโปรแกรมเวอร์ชันเก่าซึ่งปัจจุบันได้เปลี่ยนเป็นโปรแกรม Roxio Burn (จำหน่ายในราคา $19.99 USD) โดยสาเหตุของปัญหาเกิดนี้ขึ้นเนื่องจากแอด-ออนของโปรแกรม Drive Letter Access นั้นไม่คอมแพตติเบิลกับ Internet Explorer 8 ดังนั้นเมื่อผู้ใช้เปิดใช้งาน Internet Explorer 8 โปรแกรมก็จะแสดงข้อความลักษณะดังด้านล่าง พร้อมทั้งแนะนำให้ทำการอัพเดทหรือเปิดโปรแกรมโดยไม่ใช้แอด-ออน

Internet Explorer 8 is not compatible with your version of the "Drive Letter Access" Internet Explorer add-on.

- Check online for an update.

- Always open Internet Explorer without this add-on.

วิธีการแก้ไข
ไมโครซอฟท์ได้แนะนำผู้ใช้ที่ประสบปัญหานี้ให้ทำการปิดใช้งานแอด-ออน "Drive Letter Access" ตามขั้นตอนดังต่อไปนี้
1. ปิดหน้าต่างโปรแกรม Internet Explorer 8
2. จากนั้นทำการเปิดโปรแกรม Internet Explorer 8 ใหม่ ซึ่งโปรแกรมจะแสดงข้อความว่า "Drive Letter Access" Internet Explorer add-on can cause Internet Explorer to crash or to stop responding.
3. ให้คลิก Always open Internet Explorer without this add-on

ทั้งนี้ หลังจากทำการปิดใช้งานแอด-ออนแล้ว ผู้ใช้จะยังคงสามารถใช้งานโปรแกรม Drive Letter Access ในการเบิร์น CDs/DVDs ได้ตามปกติ
