ไมโครซอฟท์ออก Windows PowerShell 2.0 เวอร์ชัน Community Technology Preview 3 (CTP3) โดยใน PowerShell เวอร์ชัน 2.0 นั้นจะมีการเพิ่มยูสเซอร์อินเทอร์เฟชแบบกราฟิก หรือ GUI เพื่อความสะดวกในหารใช้งาน และสามารถรองรับการจัดการระบบปฏิบัติการ Windows Server 2008 แบบรีโมต (Remote management) ที่ติดตั้งในแบบ Server Core ได้
